A great place where we had 2 dinners with a margarita and tequila sunrise... total was $41 (tip not included)!!
    Unbelievable price!!

Food was fantastic, service was prompt and polite, and the restaurant itself is beautiful.
    Will definitely be coming back!!

My understanding is it's under new management, but the yelp ratings include the previous ownership.
Unfortunate because I've now eaten here several times since the new ownership and every time I'm totally impressed.
    Give this place a try!!

3.5 stars. The service at La Fonda is wonderful, and the restaurant definitely has a cozy vibe to it. However, I wasn't exactly blow away by the food (which is a tough bar to meet, in all fairness, since the Bay Area has wonderful Mexican food).

The one thing that really blew my mind was the vegan soup you get as part of your meal. I believe it was made with adobo sauce, because it had a rich and slightly spicy flavor to it.

I ordered the enchilada plate, with one enchilada rojo and one verde. The rojo sauce was a bit on the sweet side, and the verde was a bit too tangy for me. The beans and rice were delicious, but not what I was hoping to fill up on.

Would I come back? Maybe, but it's not my first choice.

I went in for a quick lunch. Food was good. Very large portions. Great customer service.

    Food was okay!
The ambience was very boring. When I go to a Mexican place I expect to eat fun music while I eat and drink a Margarita!! Margarita is the worst by far. It was strong but not good. I finish one enchilada and i was falling to sleep with the music they play!! Which is great relaxing music but not Whole you eat Mexican food and drink Margarita. Great costumer service

OMG. Super nice people. Super average food. Ordered al pastor tacos, got a weak carne asada taco plate. No pico de gallo, tortillas were terrible. The carne was undercooked and no flavor. Just plain old sad.
